Can it cause back problems to let your baby sleep in just a bassinet for the first few months after they're born and not a crib at all?
I was talking with a couple of people who I work with and both of them just let their baby sleep in a bassinet, as opposed to a crib, for the first 3-5 months after they were born and I figured it would just be easier to buy a bassinet now and the crib later, since I still need a lot of other stuff for my baby and I'm low on cash, but since a bassinet doesn't have an actual mattress, I was just wondering if anyone knew whether or not that could potentially cause back problems for my baby, now or later on in life, because I don't want to cause my child problems just because I'm being cheap. I also heard that it's better to let a baby sleep in a bassinet because of SIDS (Sudden Infant Death Syndrome), due to the fact that it's not as padded as a crib is. So, if someone could help me out with this question, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks!
