Do fish sleep?

Report as

Come on guys why didn't one of you guys look it up!?

Answer:Yes fish sleep. But it?s not sleep as we know it. They don?t have eyelids to close, they sometimes do it during the day, they don?t show the characteristic brainwave patterns like REM sleep seen in humans, and some, including most sharks have to keep swimming in their sleep.

Haha, I want to know too. I guess for those of us that have a pet fish we could just sit there and watch them for a whole day. Haha, no, but good question.... I am curious too!!:);)

Yes they sleep but not the same way we sleep. They don't have any eyelids so they can't close their eyes.

Yes, they go to a state of trance instead of sleeping as we know it. They only come back to reality when they need to breath.
