The best way to study is continuously going over your material for several days to weeks before your exam and then getting a good nights rest before the day of your test. Studies show that sleeping, and not cramming overnight, actually helps you retain the information you studied. If you're cramming for a test today, you should probably be reading and copying the material you need to know over and over again, and/reciting it, anything to do with using it, and not reading up on tips on how to study. Another tip is to chew gum while you are studying, and then chew gum while you are taking the test. Being in similar environments, or doing similar actions, help people remember information sometimes. Maybe if you chew on your pen tip a lot, or some other random habit, do that as you study and as you take the test; it might help you remember something.
Group what you are studying into sections. Keep reviewing one section at a time until you've got it down. Once you study and remember all the sections, keep reviewing them all together or mix up the sections until you've gotten mastery!
