Is it possible to aim a wide angle laser in the sky to excite water molecules in the clouds so that it rains?

Report as

It is not clear if it is possible to aim a wide angle laser in the sky so as to excite water molecules in the clouds so that it rains. However, the MMT Telescope can at the moment see a wider area of sky due to the lasers that have been installed. It has helped to improve the sight of the aging MMT telescope.
