I broke 3 ribs a year ago, and the pain is still agonizing at times. Trust me, if you broke ribs, you would know it. You should however, get an x-ray to double check that you didn't damage your lungs and have a possible start to a pneumo-thorax.

Lie down flat on your back and then try to raise up. If it is difficult to do and causes pain, your ribs may be injured. It could also cause pain when you try to roll over on your side. But I suppose it's also possible that your ribs could be fractured and still not cause pain. Btw, my ribs have been fractured twice.
If it hurts a lot to stand or even walk then there may be something wrong. I advise you to go to the doctors immediately instead of waiting because if there is something broken or cracked you want to find it early so that theres a better chance in fixing it.
it reqlly doesnt matter if they are broken..cant do anything to fix them other than let them heal. unless you think there is other problems that may be associated with accident you just have to wait it out and try not to be too active until pain gets better. typically if hard to breath or twist torso you either have broken them or bruised them.
