Will guns fire on the moon i think they want but all my classmates say it will not

Let's think about this...
In reality, our moon has no atmosphere, no atmosphere means no oxygen... Regular gunpowder in bullets need a spark when you pull the trigger and the hammer hits the charge on the bullet in order to shoot. Since fire needs oxygen to burn, there is no way a spark could happen out on the moon. The rifle will jam on the first round... That's why sci-fi shows use lasers and proton torpedoes... :-p
...now if there were specially made with magnesium powder bullets then, yes since magnesium when heated (laser charge) makes it's own oxygen. But then, makes the rifle cookoff uncontrollably (*shoot off rounds dangerously, or better yet exploding, killing the shooter and anyone in close proximity...)
...but I digress...
