What is the reason beyond yawning?
a) lack of oxygen
b) sleepiness

my teacher told me that it is because of lack of oxygen .
but i think it can be because of sleepiness,
we need oxygen to break food and release energy and food digests faster or food is broken down with the help of oxygen faster when we are asleep, so we feel like sleeping after having food.so in many cases it can be said that yawning is a symbol of sleep .

It's both. When you are sleepy you start to breathe slower like you are going to sleep. This causes a lack of oxygen to the brain making yourself yawn. Hope I helped!

Respiratory center in the medulla oblongata suffers from lack of oxygen. The reticular formation in the medulla oblongata is responsible for the level of consciousness and awakening. So lack of oxygen produces sleepiness. Other substances accumulating in the brain, such as melatonin, also provoke sleepiness. Sleepiness may be also the result of blood outflow from the brain to the digestive system after eating.
