My friend cuts himself. What should I do?

I have a friend who's been my best friend for a long time and is like my brother. He told me a few months ago that he was cutting, and he told me a few reasons why, but I'm afraid he's going to seriously injure himself. I've thought about speaking to his parents or a school teacher/counselor/principal, but I don't know. I know I shouldn't be worried about him being angry with me, and even though I am, I'm even more afraid of him killing himself, whether by accident or not. I'm really worried and scared of what might happen to him. I need help. Please, someone help me?

He's an avid religious person already though, so that won't help much

Talk to a councilor or go online and find the number for suicide prevention line
