You can try such things as a heating pad and ibuprofen or Tylenol. Another thing which sometimes helps is calcium tablets--500 to 1000mg a couple times a day (even Tums will do the job!). But if you're really in pain, see your Doctor. If you don't have an OB/GYN, look in the yellow pages. And look for a woman Doc. By the way, there's no need to be embarrassed--it's a normal function, like eating or sleeping. Roughly half the population of the planet experiences it!
