I would say why do you bother to go to class if you want to text? Maybe you'd be happier sitting in the hallway or something and doing your thing.

Wear a jacket and put just the sleeve on your desk so it looks like your arm is on your desk while you're secretly texting underneath the desk.

What's more important education or a text?
Really, you can just wait till after class to reply. It will save your grade.

Texting is way more important if u reply after class then the other person will take forever to reply back.

Yea, I wouldn't risk it. I mean think about it-the teacher is taking his or her time teaching you and spending moments of their life helping you learn something when they could be texting or doing something else instead. What's worth getting caught anyways? I would respect your teacher and turn off your cellphone during class.
Report as
Besides, maybe even your teacher might have a itching to respond to a text in class, but he or she waits until the class is over to do that kind of thing-that's one thing to consider why texting is not to be tolerated in class. It's just out of respect for everybody.
Report as
My teacher doesn't even care she's like 70 years old she can't NEVER hear when people are talking to her that we literally have to yell at her and she ALWAYS get confused on what she's talking about.
Report as
But still out of respect for the teacher and everybody's time, even if the teacher does not care, texting in class is disrespectful no matter how one looks at it.
Report as
Nobody even respects the teacher In my class I mean everyone calls her a well Biatch so yeah no respect= we can text/call people In class
Report as
But I'm not gonna sit here and argue with u the whole night I mean I do understand where your coming from but I personally thinks that since no one is giving a crap why should I but again I do understand where your coming from with the whole respect thing.

You gotta be kidding me right?! If not, perhaps the nay-sayers are correct when they predict the imminent fall of Western Civilization--I mean how could one study with those damn things being allowed in class? If schools allow those things during class without being confiscated, if we as a nation were lagging behind before, NOW the "race" must already be over! GEEZE! You freakin whippersnappers ever just try passing notes--You know, stuff written on a piece of paper with a writing implement? Wait don't answer that! Somebody just tell me WHY those damn things are allowed in class?

Cause were not in the 1970's anymore

To 608reaper: Look kid, I don't know if you're trying to be a wise guy or not, I'm saying that if I was a teacher, and I caught some kid using one of those damn things in class, I should be allowed to confiscate it for at least a week! Yeah you read that correctly--A week! And please dont give me that lame "Oh we need it for an emergency" excuse PUH-Lease! But hey if most public school districts allow those things in class, without the option of confiscation then, I dont know what else to say. Not that I really care THAT much, but I cannot see how allowing the use of those things during class, can be conducive to learning. I had books, BOOKS taken away from me in public school by some teachers that were not part of the class. (Some teachers back then didn't give a ___ and let me or others read or do whatever as long as it didn't disrupt the rest of the class. Oh the eternal lament: "Kids today!"
Report as
Their allowed in class cause there's absolutely no way there gonna confiscate over 800-1500 phones everyday
Report as
I'm not trying to be a wise guy I'm simply stating facts
Report as
To 608reaper: Hmmm good point, I didn't think of that, I guess it really is no different than passing notes or reading paperback or comic books in class.
Report as
1970"s? I graduated in 1998 and I can not name one student in my class ever having a cell phone.
Report as
I was trying to be exaggerative

To Annaruby: Thank you for your comment. (Thank you too, 608reaper, for your comments as well) I'll admit that I was overreacting. (Shame on me!) It's just that for some reason I detest those pieces of technology! I guess a couple of reasons I detest them so much is because 1) I don't know how to use them, 2) There is a very good chance that they will make typing obsolete and 3) They just remind me how fast the world is moving. Also, sometimes when I see people with their heads down staring into their hands, I feel like ripping the thing out ot their hands, and screaming "Get a life!" which is unfair considering I don't have much of a life myself, and pretty judgemental as well.
