Yes. But it's also considered human nature and emotions. I always try to be the bigger person though. I let all insults roll off my back. Just stop and think before responding back. That's what I always do. (Plus it makes them mad. I always raise my eyebrows and look at them like they're crazy then answer.)
There's a fine line between immature comebacks and witty retorts. I have a funny book with a collection of "witty replies" called, "I wish I'd said that!". Some of the most famous people and their sharp wit. Great book, real cheap.
No.... You're sticking up for yourself.... The BEST thing to do is after they insult you.... Look them up & down, then roll your eyes & laugh! Anyone that insults or put ls down others are INSECURE with themselves..... TRUST ME! Your best defense is to laugh at them without a word..... They'll never know what your laughing about & sink into their pathetic hole! Might teach them a lesson...... Might not. Who cares.... They're the insecure ones!
I always say, pick your battles, is it really worth your time? And is this person going to pay attention to you standing up for yourself. If the answer is yes, I say, go for it. I've changed a few minds before after a sort of heated post battle. But I really think about it before I waste my time.
No way! It's instinct and too hard not to fight back. We have to defend ourselves, right?? In my eyes, it's weakness if you don't stand up for yourself. I was always taught not to take any poop from anyone. Or you could act totally completely crazy and people will think there's something wrong with you. They leave you alone, trust me... That's what my mom and her sisters did! Hope this helps! ;D ~Alicia
