What is wrong in wearing a hoodie?

Unfortunately many people view them as a symbol of urban violence, and have come to view those wearing them as being a potential threat. It doesn't matter that the person wearing one is an honor student. Those people think, if it looks like a duck and walks like a duck and talks like a duck and is seen in the company of ducks, it must be a duck--even when they are totally wrong. They assume the wearer is either a gang-banger or a wanna-be. That in itself can lead to big trouble, as we have seen.

Hoodies make people do evil things ... just like trenchcoats and firearms. Once you wear/carry one of those things, it takes over your mind and turns you into a criminal.

At least, that's what certain people ... who blame inanimate objects rather than expect people to take personal responsibility for their actions ... believe.

Yes, exactly. In fact, yesterday when I was wearing a hoodie, I imagined myself throwing a couple of students off the roof. Those were evil, criminal thoughts in my head. It didn't happen because they are so big and I was too busy. Today, I am wearing a blazer and those two students are safe, as is everyone else. This is proof that hoodies cause crime, if the person isn't too busy and the victims aren't too tall.

Obviously to SOME it's suspicious.

But in my opinion anyone should be able to wear anything they want.

Just because someone wears a specific clothing item
shouldn't mean they are suspicious.
What makes a person suspicious are weapons
and how the individual acts.

If you saw two guys wearing hoodies walking towards you, you'd be suspicious too, it's called "self-preservation" and there's nothing wrong with it as long as you don't shoot an innocent person.

If I saw two guys wearing hoodies walking towards me, they weren't doing anything or that looks not normal, I would keep walking.

Nothing aslong as your wearing it for the right reasons, cold head, raining outside, wind protection. Basically protecting you from elements. If your wearing it during christmas dinner then your begging for thug status.

I wear hoodies ... when it's COLD. But to some criminals, it's like their uniform. They think they can hide their faces under the hood.

What's bad about it? You might be mistaken for somebody who just robbed a gas station and get arrested by police. You might be mistaken for a gang member and shot by members of the rival gang.

down here on the doors of the banks there now is a list of things they don't want you to wear if you go inside...all are innocent items in themselves but since a few use them to break the law now all that wear them are looked at suspiciously.....sad but these are the times we live in now

It is a garment. Some people think it means person might be a bad person.Heck a lot of bad guys in expensive designer suits.I see it like that black leather jackets the hoods wore in 1960's.Time for a clothing change hoodie now been in style since late 1980's.New young people will start something different.

I don't think there's anything wrong with it.
I wear a red one with the hood up and ride a BMX bike.
When I ride through town I can hear people say,"Elliot from ET sure did get fat!"

Hoodies are common here where I live because that's what commercial fishing crew wear when working on deck.
