Uhm.... The block AND the patio measure 12x12? In that case you only need one....

Live load = 60# per square feet
Total square feet = 144
Patio weight = 144 X 70 = 10.1 kips
10080 / 1000# = 10+ concrete blocks
(Use 12 concrete blocks spaced at 4 feet each)
Report as
12 X 100 = 12,000 min. capacity
Report as
1000 psi each block sorry

Try 12 concrete blocks 1ft.sq.
1 block = 1 kip
12 X 1000 = 12kips > Total deck load
Total deck load = 144 X 75 = 10.8kips

Thumbs up

The typical answer would be 144. You must also consider unforeseen conditions.

Example:
1. Is the ground level/ I leveled? If unlevel then blocks would be needed to use under the patio to level it depending on how steep the grade is.
2. Replacements for damaged blocks.

Report as

well if they both measure 12x12 then one but if the block is 12x12feet and the patio needs to be 12x12 yards then you have to do the math

Ahhh... 12x12=144 or 12 dozen also known as "a gross".
You would order a gross of 12x12 blocks, but it always good to get a few more then you actually need.
