According to Revelation 12:12 we are living in a time of woe here on earth. . “Woe for the earth because the Devil has come down to you, having great anger, knowing he has a short period of time.” However, but note it states it is for a short period of time. God will not continue to allow the Devil to have his way, sort of speak. But the bible also describes what this time period will be like for the earth. We can find that at 1 Timothy 3:1-5. Does this mean we are all just doomed? NO WAY. God has always only destroyed the wicked, the righteous people remain, Think of Noah and Lot for examples. God tells us his will at Psalms 37:9,10,11, 29. So what must we do to be part of those righteous ones who will possess the earth? In prayer to God, Jesus said: “This means everlasting life, their taking in knowledge of you, the only true God, and of the one whom you sent forth, Jesus Christ.” (John 17:3) Come to an accurate knowledge of the only true God, Jehovah and his son Jesus Christ. I hope this helps.
Living in the last days in my opinion means that the world is coming to an end. These are beliefs based of individual people and what they see happening around them. Nobody is certain when the world will come to an end.
Since the the ascension of Christ to the "right hand of the Father" the world has been in the "last days". The apostle Paul clearly seemed to expect the second coming of Christ within his generation. The time table of God emanates from eternity not the "time/space" condition we are restricted by, so what may strike as "a long time" is purely a human based perspective. Followers of Christ are never told to consider which generation the end of the age will be, only to "watch and pray". All the generations to this day are the "last days".
The meaning of the "last days" means that we are in the final stages of this system of things. We are close to the end of this world. But not the literal earth, butthe system of things on it. Soon according to the bible, there will be a great tribulation, and then armageddon, where Jehova will destroy all evil on earth.

Those who say it are fools. People have been saying it for millennia and it still hasn't come. So don't hold your breath! And anyway, remember Amos 5:18 (KJV): "Woe unto you that desire the day of the Lord! To what end is it for you? The day of the Lord is darkness, and not light."
