The best advice I've ever received came from a man who owns his own company as well as being the mayor of a small town near me. I was afraid of learning to drive. His advise was "turn fear into curiosity." Anytime I have a fear of doing anything, I hear those words.
What goes around comes around. I used to be a very bad girl in high school, trying to make other girl's life difficult. One day a girl I did not know gave me that advice and I felt so ashamed. I stopped my behaviors but in college, everybody used to pick on me.
There are many people who talk about things they would like to do but few people act on it. My father told me that and it has proven right. I have had many great experiences because I acted and did not just talk about it.
1. Not everyone is a good person, and you will meet bad people in your life.
2. There is no such thing as "free." You will always pay for it, one way or another.
3. Engage brain before putting mouth in gear.
MOST IMPORTANT ADVICE I'VE EVER GOTTEN:
If you will learn to listen to your gut, and stop trying to tell yourself that you are being silly, or that "he/she wouldn't do that to me," or some other denial, you will save yourself a great deal of heartache in your life, and you very well might SAVE YOUR OWN LIFE one day.
