How is it to live in Washington state? Are there a lot of mosquitoes?Does everything mold?

I live in the Mojave desert in California, and I want to move somewhere (possibly Washington state or Oregon) that gets a good amount of rain and possibly snows some in the winter but I want to stay somewhat close to the pacific ocean (hour and a half to two hour drive)I would like to move to a suburb of a big city,so there will be a lot of shopping and jobs available.Any suggestions please.

Washington State is a nice place to live because the weather there is much milder. This is because; it lies in the Olympic Mountain rain shadow. Some good parts of the state receive 21" of rain every year and the place is always cool. There are also some fabulous spots and picnic areas.

I once lived in the Mojave, which was very enjoyable. The sunshine, pretty pastel painted landscape, earthquakes, Joshua trees, U-2. What I missed most about Washington was the abundant greenery.

Western Washington is very beautiful, scenic, but rainy. Too many grey, overcast days makes it a depressing place for many people, hence, more coffee drinking to self-medicate.

When there is a warm, sunny day, everyone goes nuts over it! They do their best to leave work early or do whatever they can to get outside enjoy it while they can. In a few hours it could start raining again.

Yes, there is plenty of mold. If you have a car that leaks, you are in big trouble!
