Just wondering how it all started.

The origin of April fool's day is rather uncertain but the common belief holds that the custom of playing tricks originated in France in the middle 1500s. A new calendar was adopted and April 1st was moved to January 1st. There are people who decided to follow the king's creed but others did not. The ones who did not became the part of jokes and tricks by others. People sent them mock gifts and played tricks on April first, whereby later it was called April fool's Day.
