You can not tell by their face. You must pay attention to past situations. Faces can hide many things. Usually voice inflections can give someone away easily, usually mumbling or flaming up when you confront them. If you confront someone about something and they freak out, telling you they didn't do it, that's usually a sure sign that they've done something wrong.

It actually kind of depends on the person. I'm a terrible liar, so I tend to avoid eye contact and my voice goes very soft. But on the other hand, there are really good liars who will have no problem looking you straight in the eye, and lying right to your face.
