How are cards making people feel better

Cards make people feel like somebody cares for them.

Greeting cards convey thoughts and emotions from one or more persons to one or more other people. Part of the human experience is relating to other people. We like to interact with each other. Greeting cards are a fun and effective way of doing this.

I don't think they make people feel better for the most part. People just feel as if they must give and people that receive feel obligated to pretend how much they like it.
