I got my ears pierced fifty years ago now...what I recall is that it did not really hurt that much. However, I was so delighted with the earrings I had - beautiful gold roses - that I may not have felt anything irregardless.
My guess is that the professional person doing it for you will know how to handle it. But what some people do is to hold an ice cube to your earlobe, and a few minutes of that will numb whatever few nerves there are in your ear.
I have loved wearing pierced earrings for five decades now, and I think they will look great on you...you are a guy? Anyway, enjoy your new look!
To numb your ear before getting them pierced, you could use a numbing gel that is usually very effective. You could also use ice. You could also take a pain killer half an hour before you go, or right before you get it pierced, that way the medication will already be in effect.
