My iPod says that it isn't connecting when it should be. How can I fix it?

When I connect my iPod to my computer, it says it isn't connected. It doesn't even say it's charging.

Make sure ya have the right cord that is used to connect to the computer. I used to think the same thing, and then all of a sudden I realized that I was using the wrong usb cord that's purpose was strictly to charge. It sometimes says for charging only on the cord itself. The usb cords look exactly the same though so often it is hard to tell visually until you plug it in:) hope you get it to work!! There are other troubleshooting tricks apple can help you with, their number is (408)996-1010. Hope it helps!!

When your iPod is not connecting while it should be connecting, you need to reboot the system and put it on again. As the device opens, you will realize its full functionality. However, if this does not work, I advise that you contact a professional from iPod stores to help fix the problem.

The cable may be broken. Borrow another cable and see if that helps.
