Im a constant nosebleeder and ive heard all these suggestions before. DONT EVER LEAN UR HEAD BACK. You will get sick. and its not good on your stomach. The thing ive found that works for me is a cold rag on my nose
You can usually stop a nosebleed by pinching your nose just above your nostrils for about 10 minutes. Lean forward and breathe through your mouth to drain blood down your nose instead of draining it down the back of your throat. Read more from www.medicinenet.com/nosebleed/page2.htm.
This is going to sound weird but I've actually seen it work. Bend your pinkie finger down and, with the thumb of your opposite hand, press and hold the tip tightly against the base. I have no idea how it works, but it does.
if you want the blood to get out, bend forward (don't let it drip on the floor, put something under your nose...). By the way, never lean back or make it so that your nose points to the ceiling... The blood is gonna drip down your throat and you're gonna breathe your blood, which you might not want to do.

Do NOT lean back when you have a nose bleed. This will cause the blood to run down your throat and into your stomach. Your stomach cannot digest a lot of blood and you will throw it up. Also, doing this makes it impossible for you to realize just how much you are bleeding. People have actually bled to death from a nosebleed. Pinch your nostrils together and keep your head level. You can also apply ice to the back of your neck. If you have persistent nosebleeds, see an Ear, Nose Throat doctor. Often, your nose bleeds because it is too dry. You may have a deviated septum which is causing your nostril(s) to dry out because too much of the septum is exposed to direct air flow. This can be corrected with an outpatient surgical procedure that can be extremely effective.

this is very weird but it works, u shuld get a brown paper bag, then rip pieces off to put under ur upper lip in ur sleep if it happens at that time then that prevents it , i dont kno how but it does. im not sure if it works while ur nose bleeds happen but if they happen every night this shuld stop them from coming.... grandmas remedy!
DO NOT TIP YOUR HEAD UP (in other words, don't lean backwards)!!! Doing this will make you choke on your own blood. lay down on a flat surface, put a pillow under your head and make sure your head is above your heart. This will slow down the blood flow to your head. Lay like this for about 2-3 hours, if that doesn't stop it, go to the nearest emergency room, cause then you have a serious problem. Hope this helped!:)
burn it dont tilt your head back its actually bad to do pinch the bridge of your nose if this is a frequest problem the doctors will burn it ''cartirize it'' fancy way of saying they burn your veins shut have fun :)
what works for me is , i usally just hold my nose with a tissue, then after it starts to slow down i blow my nose until i get the clot, then its usally done, you might have to do this a coupple times depending how bad it is
Prevention is as equally important. Twice a day swab the interior of your nostrils with petroleum jelly on a q-tip. If this doesn't reduce the frequency of your nose bleeds, you might should consider having your nose cauterised.
NEVER lean back, it goes down your throat to your stomach. I had constant nosebleeds growing up, then my son had them which, was very alarming. Lean FORWARD apply pressure with your index finger just above your top lip where your nose begins-between your nostrils, but not covering your nostrils. If the nosebleeds are chronic consult your doctor. When I was a child the doctor cauterised the capillaries/blood vessels in my nose with heat, it was a traumatic experience - this was 40 years ago. My son had his capillaries also cauterised, I did not want him to have the same experience I'd had, but they did his with a chemical and he did not seem uncomfortable. This is nowadays a simple in office procedure. Your doctor will determine the reason for your nosebleeds and recommend the best option for you. Good luck.
grab tissue and sit down. pinch your nose with the tissue and lean forward. DO NOT LEAN BACK YOU WILL BREATHE IN YOUR BLOOD! if it doesnt stop bleeding after 30 minutes, go to your hospital/doctors office immediately!
Pinch your nostrils, lean forward, try not to swallow the blood it can make you vommit. After nose bleed stops don't blow your nose for a while it is tempting but don't do it. May cause it to start again. Keep your sinuses moist by using saline sprays. And don't pick your nose you can rupture a vein which will cause a nose bleed,Also keep q-tips out of your nose.

I am actually a surgeon and never lean backwards....the blood could go to the back of your throat and you could cough, which will increase pressure and your nose will bleed even more. Worse off, you could choke on thisThe key is to pinch your nose and lean FORWARD. Do this for a good ten minutes and even put some ice in a bag, covered with a towel and put it on your nose. The ice will constrict your vessels and will slow down blood flow.If this doesn't work, repeat for another time. Avoid blowing your nose for 24 hours. Very seldom do you have to go the ER and they will pack your nose. If that doesnt work, they rarely have to cauterize it.
