Too much Tylenol causes liver damage to begin with. In the past few years they have seen a spike in damage caused by people taking Tylenol too often. Ibuprofen is a better choice if you have been drinking. Ibuprofen can tear your stomach up though . Really not a good idea to take any meds with alcohol. It not only messes up the liver more but can cause breathing issues and more.

Tylenol has acetaminophen as a main constituent, and it can be quite deadly to the liver if mixed with alcohol. When the two are combined in the liver, there is a toxic byproduct created called N-acetyl-p-benzoquinone imine that kills liver cells.
