You should not try to turn it on or even plug it into anything because this will only increase the damage to other component or even electrocute you. Dry it out by using a hairdryer for a while, and then spray the compressed air into the earphone hole at the top and the dock-adapter hole that is at the bottom. If you are lucky the iPhone will turn itself on automatically.
Stokly28 is right about the alcohol. After u take it out of the alcohol drain it and shake out the rest. Then fill a bowl or ziplock bag with uncooked rice and cover/close the bowl or bag wait about 3 days then try to turn it back on. I did the same thing and did what I'm telling you and my iPhone works perfectly. The comment that someone else made about the whites strips turning pink is to only let apple know that your phone was dropped in water. They don't cover water damage in their warranty anyway. So just try what I told you and you should b fine. Hope your iPhone works again. oh yeah turn your phone off right away after you take it out of the water
