this depends on your reading level you should try any kind of chapter book. right now my fifth grader is reading The Candymakers and it is above his level.

The Boy in the Striped Pajamas (not what you think) or Penny from Heaven. Biographies of successful people are also a thought. ( For example Presidents, inventors, scientists, etc. ) Having useful facts in your brain is never a bad thing. There have been plenty of times where I was extremely grateful for having read a certain nonfiction book, because it allowed me the opportunity to discuss a certain topic in detail. Being a book worm is NOT a bad thing. :)

fablehaven by brandon mull, witch and wizard by james patterson, the unwanteds by lisa mcmann, percy jackson by rick riorden, and if you want a quick series, the spiderwick chronicles by holly black

i am also in 7th grade as well so I personally think The Hunger Games the Inheritance Cycle I Am Number Four( Lorien Legacies) and the Percy Jackson and the Olympians finally The Alchemist

James Patterson books are great to read the first time i read i couldnt put the book down counting on how funny and mysterious it was.
