Last night I lay in bed looking up at the stars in the sky and I thought to myself, where the heck is the ceiling. Here's a funny random one. When I die, I want to go peacefully like my Grandfather did, in his sleep -- not screaming, like the passengers in his car.
?I?ve missed more than 9000 shots in my career. I?ve lost almost 300 games. 26 times, I?ve been trusted to take the game winning shot and missed. I?ve failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed." -Michel Jordan 23
your life is about you. self vanity leads to the destruction of the soul. if you let other people interfere with your inner peace chaos will prevail over light. your thoughts have more effect on yourself than others, so dont be swayed by others opinions or your soul will be tainted and your path led astray. live your life your own way, even if you have to live in your own world altogether, because ur life is about ur own happiness, not everyone elses. (jus made that one up)
The world is like a ride in an amusement park, and when you choose to go on it you think it's real because that's how powerful our minds are. The ride goes up and down, around and around, it has thrills and chills, and it's very brightly colored, and it's very loud, and it's fun for a while. Many people have been on the ride a long time, and they begin to wonder, "Hey, is this real, or is this just a ride?" And other people have remembered, and they come back to us and say, "Hey, don't worry; don't be afraid, ever, because this is just a ride." And we … kill those people. "Shut him up! I've got a lot invested in this ride, shut him up! Look at my furrows of worry, look at my big bank account, and my family. This has to be real." It's just a ride. But we always kill the good guys who try and tell us that, you ever notice that? And let the demons run amok... (Bill H)
Living by your wants will never make you happy. What it means to be fully human is to strive to live by ideas and ideals. And not measure your life by what you've attained in terms of your desires but those small moments of integrity, compassion, rationality, even self sacrifice. Because in the end, the only way we can measure the significants of our own lives is by valuing the lives of others.
