If you get a massage from a self employed therapist do you need to tip them? She would be doing it as a side job .

I would tip...especially if she is traveling to your home to give the massage or if you feel she did an exceptionally good job...tips are not mandatory but usually expected in that line of work...if you usually tip at a spa then you should do the same here...or just ask her if tip is included in her fee.

Yes! Gratuity is appreciated in the field of professional massage therapy.

Although it is not mandatory for you to tip a massage therapist, it is highly recommended you do so as it will show you have appreciated her work. You can give him/her a tip of 10-20% of the charges for the massage.

10% tips are OK for "Therapists". But just be careful if the term is separated after into 2 words after the fist 3 letters.
