That sounds like strep for sure. Of course, I am not a doctor so I can't be positive, but strep throat causes little white dots to appear on the back of the throat.

Usually this means that the strep is pretty far along and very contagious. Have your brother go see a doctor to receive antibiotics! If left untreated, strep throat can eventually lead to surgery.

Yes Indigenous_Genius is right! If you don't take him to a doctor soon you could get strep or others may get strep. Take him to a doctor RIGHT away!

Probably is strep, though a doctor will do a throat culture to tell for sure. In the meantime, your brother should try to drink fluids, even through it probably hurts to swallow. He likely has a fever as well and could get dehydrated. Plain water is probably best (no carbonation, no citrus juices).

It depends. It could be a number of things that would cause white pustules to appear in the throat, but you need to give more info. Could be Strep, Mono, tonsillitis, or something lodged in his tonsils called tonsiliths. If he has a fever, redness and swelling, and his tonsils are swollen from the outside of his neck, duck and cover, and take him to the ER because it's highly infectious.

I wouldn't be surprised if you catch this from your brother.... That's how contagious it is.... the doc will give him antibiotics... And it will be cleared up in couple of days....

Shouldn't you doctor be telling you what it is?
It could be mono (mononucleosis).

yes, that is one of the main symptoms of strep throat. The dr. will definitely tell your brother to come in for an appt.
