How much trouble would I be in?

I'm 15 and today I was at the mall and some short guy was starring at my moms butt. I grabbed him and asked if we had a problem and he ran away. would I have gone to jail if I would have hit him even though I was looking out for my mom?

depending how old he is if he is an aldult then no but if is 2 years or less uder your age than yes

Actually, yes, your defense of your mom must stop at the point that your mom is not in physical danger. Its entirely possible that your mom is an attractive and desirable woman to men her age. Some of them will notice her rear end. As long as they make no rude comments or act in a disrespectful manner it will/can happen. Your response, although motivated by love for your mom, was probably inappropriate. No if he was absolutely leering and behaving inappropriately, that's different. ask yourself this, does your mom dress in jeans that accentuate her butt? if yes, she wants others to notice it. what is different is that now you notice them noticing it.

Yes. Looking at someone doesn't make them a threat. And unless this other guy was posing a physical threat you could be charged and arrested depending on how far it went. Now if he grabbed her butt, then no because now at that point he is causing a threat and you are defending your mom. Kudos for watching out for your mom. I think my son would do the same thing...:)

Depends how old he was. I doubt you're going to get in trouble though cuz no guy is gonna complain to the police about a 15 year old coming after him. That's great that you stood up for your mom though. Great job! (:
