Should I ask her if she feels the same way?
I'm a mainly closeted gay girl whose best friend found out I had a crush on her through a poem I wrote, which she found on the internet. She's said a lot about how she's fine that I feel differently about her and she sometimes jokingly says she's straight when the subject comes up. But she makes these weird comments about how she was kind-of gay when she was little, and how a girl kissed her but she didn't return it. It's almost like she tries to tell me she's gay, but drops out at the last second. I don't know if I'm reading the hints wrong, and I'm really confused. I want to get on with my life if she doesn't feel the same way. I don't want to assume anything, for as someone very dear to me once said, 'Assumption is the mother of all fuck ups.' Should I go out and ask her if she ever felt anything for my other than friendship?
