Act like a ninja ;p well music is one good option to do in order to fall asleep. Watching tv late at night can make you feel sleepy, especially if it's a bit boring or not interesting to you. You might as well do some exercise before you sleep, that makes you sweat and be tired which you'll immediately rush to your bed because you'll be tired.
I use what doctors call sleep hygiene. Several things to try. Do not use computer or television for at least 1 hour before going to bed. When you are in bed, stay there. If you still can't sleep, change the location of where you are sleeping, ie, go to the couch or guest room. Stretching is good. It is sort of a Zen Exercise. Put right arm out clinch fist very hard, taking a deep breath through the nose, release breath and let fist go limp. Do that 5 times, stretch your legs and do the same thing, Tighten chest and do the same thing. This will relax you so much. You can use music as long as it isn't stimulating. The idea is to slow down those endorphins and dopamine until you need them!
It will pay you to learn to use deep-breathing exercises. Sit on the side of the bed with your feet flat on the floor, and your arms hanging loosely at your sides. Roll your shoulders back several times, then drop your head forward with your chin resting on your chest. Slowly and gently roll your head all the way around, first one direction, then back the other way. Do this slowly several times. It will help to relax your neck and shoulders.
Breathe in deeply through your nose, filling your lungs all the way. Our lungs go down almost all the way to the bottom of our ribcage, so focus on filling them. Then breathe out slowly through your mouth. Breathe slowly in through your nose, filling your lungs to capacity, then breathe out slowly through your mouth. Do this in a slow, relaxed manner. After a short while, you should be able to lie down on your bed and continue your breathing, in and out. This exercise is very relaxing, and you'll be asleep before you know it!
