It is possible that your sciatic nerve is irritated somewhere along its length. Sometimes if the nerve gets compressed, it will result in a tingling sensation in your hip. I don't think there is much to worry about. If you start having pain or extensive numbness, call your doctor.
The sciatic nerve is the biggest nerve in the body. It starts at the base of your spine, then it branches off and goes down through your buttocks, part of it branches off and lies around your hips, along the backs of your thighs, along the outside of your knees, down the outside of your calves, through your ankles and along the outside edge of your feet and into the smallest toe and the one next to it.
