It is going to end someday. The doomsday predictions have been around since people could carve them into stone. Many times they involve a story of a deity coming down to earth and picking out his favorites and destroying everything else. Unfortunately we just never seem to get an accurate location, god or date. Oops. It's a pretty good way to keep the faithful and fearful in line. Scary, vague yet realistic, a story line that works in any century!
Because there are usually religious afterlife rewards to look forward to if they toe some kind of dictated line. There's always some sort of behavior prescript that goes with surviving one, and failing to survive if you don't behave.
2 Pet 3: 3 Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts, 4 And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation. 5 For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water: no reason to be paranoid iv got Jesus to die with NO FEAR!!!!
Because since man was created and sinned by disobeying, and Christ had to give himself a ransome in exchange for their sin, he has to now put an end to this wicked world so the righteous can live wicked free. End of this world as we know it. Gen 3:15. First prophecy in the bible.
Because everything we see, comes to some type of end. We know humans are destroying our planet for money, and greed. We see terrible natural disasters. We know some history of our planet. How things started and ended. It is something to be curious about , and we might predict the end, so we can max out our credit cards without payback! Hooey!
