6x+1=8
6x=8-1 subtract 1 from both sides
6x=7 Then divide both sides by 6
x=7/6 or 1 1/6

6x would be 7 plus 1 is 8

Math isn't my thang so I'm not sure, but
6x=-1+8
6x=7
...maybe.

the answer is 1 because 8-1=7 7-6=1 just work backwards

6x + 1 =8 First we need to get the x on one side of the equal sign all by itself and all the numerals on the other side. +1 moved to the other side will be a -1. Now we have 6x = 8-1, or 6x = 7. 6 multiplier on one side of the equal sign will be 6 divisor on the other side. now we have x = 7divided by 6, or x = 7/6 6 into 7 = 1.1666667 x = 1.167
