When will my black lab grow up?

I have a one year old black lab and I love her to death. Shes my first dog (my parents got us a dog before but this one is mine) and she follows me everywhere. But she has no manners and I have to keep her in a cage when at school because she tares everything up. I yell at her when she does (even though I hate it) and shes sad after I do. But she never learns! Will she ever stop and if she will when?

She is tearing everything up not because she is just simply being bad or she is just being immature .. She is trying to tell you something. Behaviour is often a symptom of a underlying problem. She could be suffering from anxiety if left alone. Dogs don't act out for no reason. Is she let out during the day to go potty or is she literally cooped up all day for more than 5 hrs? If so, THAT alone could attest to the fact that she is frustrated to the point of getting into trouble. If you had someone let her out during the day, chances are, her behaviour might improve.

A lab is a high energy dog. She needs to be exercised a lot and often to expend her energy.

I leave at 7am and my mom gets home at 1pm. I've tryed leaving her out when we are gone with our other lab (he's 5) but she still trashes the house. Her cage is huge ( I can get in with her and we both still have room) and it has all her toys in it. My mom takes her on a walk after she gets home and i take her on one before i leave and to the park when I get home. Is there anything else I can do?

You need to take her to obedience school, exercise her regularly and keep her crated when no one is around to watch her, even so it takes labs about 3-4 years to "grow up".
