How did English king Henry VIII respond to Luther and the Reformation?

Report as

Henry VIII’s reply to Lutheran ideas of reformation was comparable to that of the bishops. Henry wrote a reply to Luther, opposing Lutheran doctrine and for the dominance of the Pope. For his hard work, he was rewarded with the title of Defender of the Faith by the Pope, a title that English monarchs carry to this day.
