What were the three reasons why President Truman dropped the bomb on Hiroshima and Nagasaki?

Report as

Mostly it was to save many American lives and that the Japanese emperor would refuse to surrender. A third nuclear bomb was considered but then the emperor signed the Americans unconditional treaty. But the emperor only signed it if he could stay in power

To end the war before Russia had a chance to invade Japan and ending up with a divided Japan like what happened in Germany.

Ended war fast

It's sad that it took TWO explosions to save lives, in the long run. Hiroshima could have been spared. (But the Japanese did not believe we had as 2nd bomb to spare because they were so expensive to manufacture. Huge error on their part.)
