How do I get all the red out of my hair when I want to dye it brown?

my hair is originally dirty blonde, i've been dying it for 5 years now. To brown but have recently in the past 3 months got it red, and last month when I re-dyed it brown it has stayed red. You can mostly tell in the sun, which is horrible cause in the dim light it looks completely brown. I want it brown ONLY. My hair gets dyed permanent color at the salon, what should I do to get all the red out? Bleach it to get the red out then brown or what?

You should get a dye remover to remove the red dye such as Color Zap and Loreal's hair Color Remover. You can also try bleaching your hair a well. However before doing all these on your hair, first consult a professional hair stylist.

You can start using dandreff shampoo (heads and shoulders) that product is good for those who have issues and also good for protection....so a daily regimen of that will increase the removal of that dye in your hair....but the thing is....how long do you want to wait for the dye to go?? this may take 2-4 months....but I f you want a faster job...do bleach it

No don't bleach it. You'll have a very brassy result. Your hair will be overly porous in places and the color will grab and look really dark and light in other areas. Here's your color 101 for today when coloring blond hair brown us hairstylist usually fill the hair with a red pigment first let that process then rinse dry hair 80% then apply the brown formula let that process and tadaaaa you have an even brown color. Now second lesson your stylist can adjust the tone of the brown to counteract the red. In the color world green cancels out red. So, ash or a beige undertone will get rid of the red . Very simple process. Also you can maintain your brown with a color pigment shampoo and conditioner to neutralize any warmth in-between visits. Hoped I helped
