How many days a week can I work out with 3-5 pound barbells?

I think you should work out 3 days a week using the 3-5 pound barbells. A workout routine is basically a group of exercises carried out in a succession of workouts, spread over a one week time period. It is usually repeated for a number of weeks or months.
