does salt water boil faster

Report as

Water boils at a temperature of 100 degrees Celsius which is equal to 212 degrees Fahrenheit. Salt will not make the water boil any faster but it can get hotter. The addition of salt will increase the boiling point to around 106 degrees Celsius or 222.8 degrees Fahrenheit. Adding salt when cooking will insure that the food is cooked thoroughly at a high enough temperature.
