Can you turn a Verizon Droid X into a prepaid phone? If so how do you go about doing so....?

I have a t mobile plan but my phone went to crap and I don't really want to buy a phone because we are getting our upgrade in July so makes no sense to do so. My cousin switched to an iPhone and has the Verizon Droid X and offered it to me, so I'm wondering if I go to a Verizon store and ask them for a SIM card and a unlimited phone card that lets me have texting, calling, internet, etc. if I could use it like that? I don't know I have never had a smart phone or anything just curious how to go about this.

You can convert the Verizon cell phone into an impulse prepaid. To do this, pay an early termination fee and then visit 'Impulse Plan Comparison' and select the plan that you would like to convert to. For more information, go to

I think it would be difficult, or impossible, to have a prepaid smartphone. Smartphones use a lot of data and data is expensive. You could go into the Verizon store and see your options, but I don't think smartphones could be prepaid.
