I suggest a public place like a swimming pool. Get some lifeguard training and give it a shot. (You get to hang out at the pool all summer, and get paid for it.) Also places like skating rinks, or ball parks as your friends can come hang out while you work.

it depends on what you like, a lot of people work at a fast food place first.
