how long keep tax records

Report as

The amount of time recommended for keeping tax records depends on how each record was filed. If one has claimed a loss on ones taxes the records should be kept for approximately seven years. If one has filed a tax return that one received a refund from that didn't involve any major losses then the tax return should be kept for a minimum of three years.
