When you take an IQ test in school, do they tell you the score?

Report as

Joanie : When I saw your question I called my cousin who is a school teacher and asked her.
- IQ tests are rarely given. Maybe around third grade if there has been a difficult or gifted student an IQ test could be given along with a psychological evaluation and what-not and the score is not shared with the students, parents or teachers. The special needs staff just outline a plan to follow. In earlier decades they use to make the scores known and found that the students teachers and even the parents would treat their child differently ( duh ) so they don't do that any more.
- When I recently took an accuplacement test for college I was told the score but that's not really an IQ test.

When is the next dog sled to Kodiak? That answer deserves a bear hug! Thank you so much. Your answer was precisely what I wanted, a definitive one. A kid on here asked if 156 was a high IQ and I wondered how he knew. I thought it was just bluster. Thanks for making the call!

Well, anyone with an actual 156 IQ would know its a high score and be able to look up what percentile of the population has that or higher score. My guess would be that 1 or 1 1/2 % have a score that high or higher.
Here is a site that has bell curve and analysis of scores.

- He could be claiming a score from many sources. I have an fun iPhone app from Mensa called "brain test" that gives IQ tests; I seen them in newspapers as "entertainment" and popular magazines. Maybe he took an IQ test on a half page article in an old Cosmopolitan or the one in his latest issue of Mad magazine.
- Here is a test I wish more Ask people would take to test their question reading comprehension.

That's not true. At my school we are required to take them. I took mine in kindergarten

Which school district is that?
I would like to check that out.
I got my information from my cousin,
who has been a teacher all her life,
plus some Internet search.
So, could you please let me know the school district that does this, so I can check it out.

When you take an IQ test at school it is not necessarily that they should tell you. It sometimes depends with the school and the reason they needed the IQ tests.

They don't allow you to see the results, not at least in my days. If you want to find out what your IQ is, you will have to pay a licensed psychologist to give you an IQ test. It's about $500 in most areas, and takes a good part of the day. You cannot take a real IQ test online, and most of the IQ tests given in schools, if they are given at all, are not very accurate, just a guideline. :)

You could always "persuade them" to give you your scores...by means of money or force.
