Difference between Lutheran and catholic?

Report as

I'm assuming you mean "what" is the difference ;)
Well there are many many points of difference (not all have the same degree of importance perhaps). Perhaps the most significant traditional difference is the idea that we need the "church" (catholic) to intervene and mediate between us and God for the forgiveness of sins and that without the "oversight" of the church we don't have salvation. Lutherans, are still a "high church" denomination, but says there is no other mediator between us and God the Father other than Jesus the Son. Also, that it is by the Grace of God that our salvation actually occurs, accepted by our faith in Jesus Christ, not by "works" or "priest".
