Help! I just caught a wild bunny and I don't know how to take care of it.

I have been feeding it volunteer lettuce from the garden and tried to feed it milk replacer for the calves but it won't drink it. What does it need? What should I do with it?

Let it go its a wild animal. How would you feel to be caight and taking away from the life u were so used to. The rabbit may even have a family an little bunnies also. If u want a rabbit u can purchase one at a pet store. Just sayin.

Get a big tall box, but flees on the bottom, get a glass bowl and fill it with carrots and lettuce then buy a bottle for him.

umm... Is it hurt cause if it isn't just leave it where you found it like texastruckguy said it might have family and the bunny is not used to this kind of life so you might kill him. If it is hurt give it to the animal shelter. Or maybe do you know a veterinarian? Ask him to help the bunny.
Hope that help I don't mean to sound mean sorry if I do.....

If its not hurt or a baby let it go near where you found it. If you take to shelter they might put it down. Where I live I get lots of squirrels, bunnies and deer and just saw a ground hog other day. I put food out for them but wouldn't capture any. They have their homes and families I just enjoy feeding them and my granddaughter enjoys watching them. You can do same feed and watch.

You might call a vet see what they say. I understand where you're coming from. But don't take to shelter. It might be ok but talk to a vet or game warden. My concern is if small enough your dog got it I'm wondering about a hawk or another animal hurting it. You just might have a pet. But make the calls and go from there. Good luck.

Lettuce is not good for bunnies of any kind. If it can no longer fend for itself in the wild, take it to a wildlife rehabilitation center. They will know how to properly care for it.

They get a sickness in the summer, and could have fleas. Let it loose.

FURMN8R said it right. Wildlife experts will reintegrate it in it's natural habitat. It is a wild creature and needs to remain wild. I know it's a cute little thing, but it does not belong in captivity. It will suffer from lack of communication with it's own kind. Be kind & responsible and remember that it is because you care that you have to give it what it needs and not what you want.

Let it go as soon as you read this. If it is hurt then it needs to be taken to a shelter. The longer you keep it the worse it is.
