My girlfriend was 18 when i was 15 i got her pregnant Im 16 now will she go to jail if the doctors see the baby was concevied before i was16

Her mom is flipping out and saying i can't be any part of this babies life my me and my girlfriend still really care about eachother and i'm willing to try and man up to have this kid it was me and her fault after all, the ONLY thing her mom has on us is she says my girlfriend will go to jail after we have the baby and it we both could lose custody because i was 15 and she was 18 when it was conceived she might of been 19 so let's just put it in the worst case scenario i live in ohio.

In most states she would have to be over 21 for her to get in trouble. In ohio, she might get a fine, but it could be jail time. Here's what I found.
"Sexual assault for a person age 18 to engage in sexual conduct with a minor if the actor knows that the minor is between ages 13 and 16"
"(1) Six to 18 months in prison, (2) if the actor is less that four years older than the victim, a $ 1,000 fine, or (3) if the actor is 10 or more years older than the victim, one to five years in prison."

But are the doctors going to look back if i were to sign the birth certificate ( so the baby can take my last name ) and they add the numbers up and realise what age i was when the baby was conceived and what age my girlfriend was would they press charges alert the authorities?? I'm 16 now and my parents consent but would that matter since it happended before i was at the age of consent.

According to what I read, if there's less then 4 years difference then she'll only get a fine. But your town could have a separate law too. The alternative would be to leave you name off the certificate blank until you're 18, see if you guys are still together and pick up from there. She can get in trouble, but it might only be a slap on the wrist. Most states though don't follow through with charges if the age is very close though. This is one of those things that you wont know until you go through with it. BUT if she gets any jail time at all it will only be the 6 to 18 months, NOT 6-10 yrs, because of the age you were. Hunter really needs to read up on laws before he speaks. I reported him also. It's disrespectful for someone to be so mean.

Garrett, I forgot to mention that if there is NO sign of abuse there's a thing called doctor-patient confidentiality they have to follow, so it could end up being the police wont even know, as long as your mom doesn't say anything..

Yes but there boyfriend isn't 4+ years older then them at the date of conception. but the maury show i mean there's girls out there no question having sex with 20+ year olds and i know some of those girls are getting pregnant but they probally are not debating on putting his last name just seems messed up because they didn't catch us in the act but they kind of did. We could keep it from them and there'd be no problem but pretty sure i have to sign the birth certificate for it to have my last name.
