My husband shaves his head. But first he uses the clippers and buzzes it down as far as possible. Then he uses a razor with 3-4 blades to shave it down to the skin. He sometimes needs a little help, which prevents him from cutting himself. Luckily I haven't cut him! Lol

In my opinion shaving clippers are better. It gets right down to the skin, and I don't think you can possibly cut yourself with it. If you are looking for the finest clippers available for shaving your head, try the OSTER Classic 76 hair clippers.
I'm a hair stylist and I think clippers without a guard are the best idea. A guy I work with does it with clippers then a razor. He does it about once a week, but the next day it looks just like it did with the clippers.
