Is it true that all of the gold that has ever been mined would fit in an Olympic sized swimming pool?

Report as

I believe it would fill something a whole lot larger than an Olympic swimming pool. An Olympic swimming pool has a volume of 88,262 cubic feet, which is about 2,500 cubic meters. A total of 165,000 tons, or in terms of volume, about 8500 m3 of gold have been mined in human history. This is more than 3 times the volume of the swimming pool.
