What are some tips on how to avoid stage fright?

I get so nervous anytime my teacher calls on me in choir! We were doing a school play, and I had a two line solo, but even during rehearsal I was very nervous and had to give up the part. But, this year I got another part, and I really want to perform! Thank you so Much!

Its okay :) that's whats soposed to happen, that way you'll have to get out of that comfort zone! everyone goes through it even I did ,I'm in choir as well I've had plenty of auditions. try performing in front of your parents or peers especially you'll get good feed back and its better to get criticized in front of people you know instead of an audience, you cant stay nervous forever or else you honestly won't enjoy your performance , you have to feel the appreciation you get after being nervous then you'll get out of your comfort zone, into a more better open one! If not then keep performing in front of people and don't over think it, you might not like it. but this is kinda serious. it'll work. you'll do great :). Let me know if this helped.

To avoid stage fright, first, focus on what it is you are going to present; think about all the effort you put into your presentation and will yourself to give a good performance. Then, if need be, hold on to something while on stage so that you can transfer your "nerves" to the object. Finally, breathe and try to relax.
